BAE Systems and Team UK Visit STADT Maritime Center
The UK and Norway have entered into a government-to-government agreement under which Norway will participate in the UK Type 26 Frigate Programme and procure five to six frigates. The two nations have also established a strengthened strategic cooperation to defend the North Atlantic and Arctic maritime domains.
BAE Systems has a key role in executing the UK–Norwegian frigate programme, including the development of industrial cooperation with Norwegian industry and technology partners.
This week, STADT had the pleasure of welcoming BAE Systems and Team UK to our Maritime Center in Gjerdsvika. The visit included presentations and in-depth discussions on upcoming projects related to the electrification of naval vessels. Our discussions also addressed requirements for unmanned and autonomous vessels, which will be essential in future naval capabilities both for UK and Norway.
The meeting highlighted the importance of reliable, scalable, and future-ready propulsion and power solutions as part of the next generation of naval platforms.
